Charles Schwab’s Christmas Present

In 1914 the Board of Directors of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation gave their leader, Charles Schwab, a magnificent punch bowl made by Tiffany & Co. The sterling silver punch bowl came with a large plateau, or a raised platter, and matching punch cups.
The lip of the punch bowl is decorated with a personal message to Schwab, “With Love And Devotion To The Old Man From His Boys At Bethlehem.” At more than two feet in diameter and 18 inches high the set makes quite a statement. We’ll never know if egg nog ever actually filled this shiny masterpiece, but we’re pretty sure it would have been tasty!
