The fall season is quickly approaching and Bethlehem is filled with so many fun fall activities to take part in! Stop by the Apple Days festival on September 18 & 19, go on a historic walking tour downtown, or stop in one of Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites’ museums.
Apple Days & Market To Go is the best festival to attend this fall! Join us for a weekend full of all things apple on September 18 & 19 at Burnside Plantation. Enjoy live music, kids’ activities, culinary contests, vendor and craft shops, and of course all the apple treats you can eat! If you can’t make it to the festival over the weekend, no worries! You can pre-order your favorite apple desserts and products in our online store for drive-thru pickup Monday, September 20 through Wednesday, September 22. Learn more here.
Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites offers many walking tours to get you out of the house and enjoy the crisp, cool fall weather! One of our favorite tours is the Old Bethlehem Historic Walking Tour. This tour is a great overview of Bethlehem’s history if you’re new to the city. Your tour guide will tell you the 275-year history of Bethlehem’s unique beginnings as you visit places important to Bethlehem’s past 1741 Gemeinhaus, 1762 Waterworks, 1758 Nain-Schober House, and the 1752 Apothecary. Tickets are $15 for Non-Members and $10 for Historic Bethlehem Members.
The Rise and Fall of Bethlehem Steel tour is another interesting tour you can take during the fall! You’ll learn all about what was once the second largest steel producer in the country and get up close views of the giant steel plant. During your one-hour tour, you’ll also learn about the steel making process and the roles the workers played in our country’s history. Tickets are $20 for adults and $12 for children. Want to add admission to the National Museum of Industrial History? Then purchase our value package for the tour and museum admission! Tickets are $27 for adults and $20 for children.
Learn about the early Moravians’ funerary traditions on the Cemetery Tour: Death & Dying. Your costumed guide will take you through God’s Acre, Bethlehem’s oldest cemetery, to hear the stories of the people behind the names you’ll find there. Tickets are $15 for Non-Members and $10 for Historic Bethlehem Members.
If you’re in the mood for a spooky tour, then go on our History & Mystery Tour! This tour will answer the question, are there any spirits roaming among the historic buildings of Bethlehem? You’ll tour through the Colonial Industrial Quarter at night and learn about the eerie stories of the early Moravians. Tickets are $15 for Non-Members and $10 for Historic Bethlehem Members.

If it’s too cold to be outside then come visit the Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts or the Moravian Museum. Both museums have great exhibits for you to view. At the Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts you can see the Art At Home exhibit. This exhibit includes artwork from local artists and collections from community members. At the Moravian Museum, you’ll view the Moravian Legacy exhibit. It explores the impact of the Moravian community in Bethlehem through documents, artifacts, and stories.
We hope to see you at Apple Days, on a tour, or at a museum this fall!
