Historic Bethlehem’s Apple Days festival returns this weekend: Here are the top 5 things to see and do

The most flavorful festival of the fall — HBMS’ Apple Days & Market to Go — is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at Burnside (1461 Schoenersville Road). Desserts are available for pick up at Friday’s Market to Go from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

The scenic 6.5-acre colonial farm will be jam-packed with apple treats, fascinating history, and an abundance of autumn activities including a cool hay maze for the kiddos! The list of events is long, so we’ve boiled it down for you with the Top 5 Things to Do this weekend.

1.) Taste all the Apple Treats

Sample the featured fruit of the festival! Indulge in a variety of delicious apple-themed sweets and treats. From apple pie and strudel to donut holes and caramel apple ice cream, there’s no shortage of mouthwatering options to try. Don’t forget to preorder your favorite fall treats for Friday’s Market to Go.

2.) Sip and sample at the Apple Brewery Tent

Sample some of The Lehigh Valley’s finest craft beer, wine, and spirits. Choose from Lost Tavern, Bru Daddy’s, Logyard, and special selections from Banko Beverage. You can also check out an historic beer-making demonstration at the festival’s Colonial Brewery. Watch as reenactors embody 19th-century Bethlehem brewer Johann Sebastian Goundie and mix up some one-of-a-kind beer.

3.) Learn about Bethlehem’s history

While you’re at Burnside, be sure to visit the many landmarks of the scenic farm in the city. Take a tour of the green grounds, colonial houses, barns, and gardens. Join HBMS as we prepare for Burnside’s 275th birthday celebration. 

4.) Grab a seat for some great live shows

Enjoy live music, community performances, and other cool stuff like The Donut Eating Contest (on the Apple Brewery Stage and The Community Stage). This year’s festival will feature local bands Smooth Retsina Glow, Jack Murray and the Blue Tarp Wranglers, and Valley Collective Band.

Pick up some delicious food and beverages and it’s the perfect way to relax and soak up the party atmosphere. 

5.) Compete Cornhole Tournament

New this year, battle to become the champion of America’s favorite lawn game at the Apple Days’ Cornhole Tournament. It’s family-friendly and for all ages. This first-ever cornhole tournament with engage your competitive spirit.
