What are the Holidays Without Food?!

November 3rd, 2020 |

The holidays are coming up fast! Can you believe it’s November? Neither can we! This year has been challenging for everyone, but Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites is going to lift spirits with some brand-new Christmas offerings. Christmas in the Quarter will be buzzing with cheer with pop-up shopping, art and Putz exhibits, family photo ops and activities, live music, food trucks, and the opportunity to see the historic buildings of the Colonial Industrial Quarter illuminated in lights for the first time ever.

To give back to the community we will be holding a food drive throughout November to support two great local food pantries. Donations can be dropped off each weekend, Thursday-Sunday, at Christmas in the Quarter. Let’s all work together to bring an extra level of joy and comfort to this holiday season.

The chosen pantries are the Hispanic Center Lehigh Valley and West Bethlehem Emergency Food Pantry. When talking to each of these organizations, many items are in high demand. Let’s help them get the items they really need this holiday season! Some of those items include:

  • Canned vegetables of any kind including tomato sauce
  • Grains- 2-3 pound bags of white or brown rice, pasta (any kind), Bacalitos (boxed)
  • Breakfast- Cereal, hot cereal, breakfast bars, cornmeal, instant oats
  • Canned tuna, chicken, seafood

Additional non-perishable food items will also be accepted and appreciated.

As a huge thank you for your donation, you will receive a 20% off coupon that can be used towards the merchandise at the Christmas in the Quarter holiday pop up shop or the Schropp Dry Goods Shoppe and Museum Store. Both are the perfect place to complete your holiday shopping! Get a jump start on your shopping by visiting the online store, offering in-store and curbside pick-up.

If you are looking to help out in another way, we are all currently looking for volunteers as well!
