Looking for a way to send off the summer in style? Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites is excited to announce the End of Summer White Party at the Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts. Enjoy the best the Lehigh Valley has to offer in jewelry, fashion, fine dining, and fun with the lush backdrop of the Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts’ garden. The event will take place on Thursday, August 21 from 6pm-8pm at the Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts, 427 North New Street.
The End of Summer White party will feature a special menu by Divine Dining, the music of the Billy Bauer Band, wine selections by South Italy Imports, and a runway fashion show featuring contemporary styles by Historic Downtown Bethlehem’s own Sophistikate and the new Docent on Main Victorian costumes by Pat Korp of Sew Easy. Musselman Jewelers, also located in Historic Downtown Bethlehem, will be providing a custom, one of a kind, white gold and precious stone necklace and pair of earrings which guests will have the opportunity to bid on in a silent auction, as well as a jewelry showcase for guests to browse.
The fashion show will be hosted by Scott Nicholls, who has worked with BBC television news in London, Sirius XM radio Manhattan, and is a guest contributor on the podcast Transatlantically Speaking. Featured historic personalities include “Madcap” May Yohe the Bethlehem starlet with the larger than life personality, local entrepreneur and community leader Robert Sayre, and the Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts’ namesake, Annie Kemerer. A special exhibition by Curator Caitlin Harvey will showcase fashion and decorative objects from the collections, on display for one night only. The evening will be styled by professional event stylist, Jan McGinley. Join us for the event and be entered to win a copy of the Smithsonian publication, “Hope Diamond: The Legendary History of a Cursed Gem” by Richard Kurin as well as a gift certificate to Musselman Jewelers.
All attendees will also receive a signed special edition poster created for the Kemerer Museum by Michael Sandy, the newest artist to be featured in the Local Artist Spotlight gallery. Guests will also have the opportunity to explore the new exhibition and meet Michael, a long time Lehigh Valley resident. The Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts is thrilled to be his first local gallery exhibition. All of Michael’s pieces highlight the beauty of the Lehigh Valley and will be rotated out several times throughout the course of the exhibition, on display through November 30, 2014.
Tickets are $75 for members of Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites, or $85 for non-members and include an evening of hors d’Oeuvres, four wine selections, and a private showing from the best the Valley has to offer in fashion and accessories.
