Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites Hosts Holiday Dinner & Auction

November 4th, 2024

This year’s auction centerpiece is Sandra Corpora’s painting, “Winter’s Glow.”

Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites (HBMS) hosts its annual Holiday Dinner & Auction on Saturday, Dec. 7, at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks. This special event includes festive dining and cocktails, live music, and auctions featuring original art, unique crafts, one-of-a-kind experiences and more. Profits from the event support the organization’s mission of preserving and interpreting the unique history of our community over three centuries.

“The annual Holiday Dinner & Auction is the best way to mark the holiday season in the Christmas City, and this year’s event is especially noteworthy as the first dinner and auction since the Moravian Church Settlements—Bethlehem World Heritage Site designation in July,” said LoriAnn Wukitsch, HBMS’s president and CEO. “All of the evening’s honorees are special, but the recent designation would not have been possible without Charlene Donchez Mowers, the former president of Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites. We look forward to recognizing Charlene and all the honorees’ contributions to our community.”

One lucky bidder will take home award-winning local artist Sandra Corpora’s featured artwork. “Winter’s Glow,” a 24-inch by 36-inch oil painting, captures the iconic Moravian Church belfry and old chapel, bringing to life the serene and historic essence of the Moravian Church Settlement in Bethlehem. Throughout Corpra’s decade-long career, she has been highlighted in numerous exhibitions and has garnered accolades for her depth of expressiveness in painting.

Benefactor ticket holders enjoy an art preview reception on Thursday, Nov. 21, at the Luckenbach Mill from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., featuring the opportunity to purchase artwork before it goes to auction. On the event day, benefactors enjoy early bidding at a reception beginning at 5:30 p.m., followed by the guest reception at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for benefactors are $325 and $275 for guests.

Various individuals and businesses will be honored at the event:
