Volunteer open house events coming to Historic Bethlehem: Help us bring history to life

Interested in helping out the team at Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites (HBMS)? Join us for a series of upcoming Volunteer Open House events.

Come meet our amazing volunteers, shadow a tour, and discover more about our growing organization. We warmly welcome friends and groups, so please bring them along!

HBMS hosts a range of volunteer opportunities year-round, giving you the chance to share your talents and join a vibrant community of like-minded people. For short-term opportunities, why not help run some of our seasonal favorites? Here’s a taste of the events coming up this year!

Volunteer with HBMS today and help us make Turkey Trot 2023 a huge success!

Historic Turkey Trot 5K & Fun Walk: Team up with us the Saturday after Thanksgiving to help with set up, bib pick-up, refreshments, race marking, and more throughout the race day.

Trees of Historic Bethlehem: Join a creative and dedicated crew of volunteers to decorate trees throughout our historic sites or lead guests to see the Trees of Historic Bethlehem exhibit offered from November to early January.

For more long-term volunteer positions, we offer opportunities including Schropp Dry Goods Shoppe Volunteer, Museum Host, or Tour Guide

Burnside Plantation, 1461 Schoenersville Rd, Bethlehem

Do you have a green thumb? Meet Colonial Gardeners at Burnside and learn more about planting and tending this wonderful historical garden. 

Saturday, Oct. 14 from 11 am to 5 pm
Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts, 427 N New St, Bethlehem

Do you love style and design? Meet our skilled docents and learn how they share their passion for over two centuries of design history with visitors.

Saturday, Oct. 21 from 11 am to 5 pm
Moravian Museum of Bethlehem, 66 W Church St, Bethlehem

Are you a Bethlehem history buff? Meet our skilled docents and learn how they bring The City’s rich Moravian history to life.
