Mugshots

August 2, 2019 through August 11, 2019

Mugshots: Oral Histories looks to community members to help tell the story of the largest, un-gated free music festival in America. Mugshots: Oral Histories is a collaborative project that marries oral history interviews and photography with interactive displays that provide a fun space for people to share their accounts of Musikfest. Check out the listening station to hear last year’s interviews and reminisce on the days when the Chicken Lady danced down Main Street or when festival goers took candle-lit walks through the festival grounds. Honor the old traditions, and celebrate the new ones.

The Lehigh Art Alliance’s Annual Summer Juried Exhibition

July 5, 2019 through August 8, 2019

See a range of works in various sizes, mediums and styles from artists around the Lehigh Valley. Pieces on display range from sculptures to paintings, sketches to fabric collage.

The LAA has always attempted to serve both the artist and the community equally. Juried exhibitions give the artist an opportunity to display their work, and give the appreciators of art an opportunity to view what regional artists are producing. The mission of the Lehigh Art Alliance is to support local artists with exhibition opportunities as well as to offer exposure through our website (lehighartalliance.org). Flash News e-mails provide information about local art events, as well as publicize the activities and accomplishments our members.

Artifacts Reimagined

March 28, 2019 through August 18, 2019

Over the past year, the 5x5 Artists have conducted research in the Historic Bethlehem Collections, photographing and studying objects. Their unique perspective encourages us to see these artifacts in a new light, as the artists fill in context or focus on details often overlooked. The resulting exhibit consists of over 50 unique works of art, exhibited directly alongside corresponding objects from the Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites Collection.
