You wouldn’t notice Kit Hower’s property from the road, but down a gravel driveway and around the back of a popular golf course in Upper Saucon Township sits Blankstone Farm.

The original structure was built in 1790 by George Blanck (known as Blank) and then added on in 1798 by George Jr.

Today, it a beautiful center hall Colonial that was most recently restored in 1976. It includes such cool spaces as an original stone wall in the half bath, paneled doors on the fireplace and Dutch locks on the doors.

Also part of the property is a cottage that now houses an apartment and small business, Bankstone Fiber Boutique. The boutique has a selection of scarves, hats, accessories, clothing and yarn that came from the alpacas raised on site. The alpacas’ home is an 1800s stone “Grundshire” barn.

The first floor of the home and the surrounding gardens are part of the Rooms to a View house tour, which will be held 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The event is hosted by Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites.
