Before Tapas took Main Street by storm, we had the A. S. Riland Store for electrical appliances! There are signs on top pointing to the Nixon/Lodge presidential campaign, and storefronts on the left side of Main Street. The photo on the left was taken on September 29, 1960 and was donated to HBMS by Bethlehem Steel Corporation.
Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites works to preserve 20 historic structures and share three centuries of local history with the public.
We are able to share the stories of Bethlehem's past through the generosity of donors. We hope you will consider becoming one of these generous individuals in this unprecedented time.
We need your help!
- Help preserve and share these stories: Receive a postcard book of historic images of Bethlehem when you donate $125 or more.
- Donate while sheltering in place: Make a gift and share one of your fondest memories of Bethlehem in the comment section of the donation form! HBMS will be featuring these shared memories on this page.
The CARES Act government stimulus bill makes it easier to give to Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites. The bill grants an above-the-line deduction for up to $300 in charitable donations even if you don’t itemize your 2020 tax return. Consider using this benefit to support HBMS.
You can also double your support if your company has a matching program! For individuals who itemize their deductions, the bill also increases the limit for contributions from 60% of the individual’s Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) to 100%.
Thank you for being a part of our community's history!
