The Morning Call: Rooms to View House Tour: Peek inside Bethlehem’s past

Explore beautiful homes and gardens — from historic properties to majestic countryside retreats — in Bethlehem from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Historic Bethlehem Museums and Sites’ 24th annual Rooms to View House Tour offers self-guided tours of nine historic properties. You can get an inside look at exquisite architecture, interiors and landscapes.
In Historic Bethlehem, go inside a late Victorian Chateauesque style building, featuring Roman-style brick, bottled glass transom windows and a terra cotta mansard roof; and the Kemerer Garden, featuring a pergola, native plants and light refreshments.
At the 1752 Apothecary, 428 Main St., guests can explore two centuries of early Moravian medical artifacts and delight in the bright, floral artifacts of a new exhibit, “Apothecary in Bloom.” The apothecary also will host a complimentary wine and cheese reception, 4-5:30 p.m., featuring colonial-inspired drinks such as Hippocras, a white wine infused with citrus and spices.
Other tour highlights include: a Victorian carriage house at 510 High St., and an 18th century stone farmhouse, featuring Moravian and German influences, at 4143 Carter Road, Bethlehem Township.

A preview soiree featuring cocktails and music by the Nancy Coletti Trio will be 6-9 p.m. Friday at 1803 Apple Tree Lane in Lower Saucon Township. Admission, $85, includes Saturday’s house tour.
