Church & Chapel Tour
Leaves from the Moravian Museum of Bethlehem
66 West Church Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018
Explore the history of the buildings themselves, as well as the structure of the worship services that were held there.
This unique opportunity begins in the oldest building in town, Bethlehem’s 1741 Gemeinhaus, where the Moravians who founded Bethlehem first worshiped over 275 years ago. Learn about the musical traditions of early Bethlehem, the Bach Choir, and the Bethlehem Trombone Choir.
Next, walk the very path the Bethlehem founders took through the Gemeinhaus into the 1751 Old Chapel, a very popular wedding venue.
Guests will then be guided next door to the Central Moravian Church. Once inside, the tour guide will give a history of the construction and alterations to the church over time.
