Historic Turkey Trot 5K Competitive Run/Walk & 1.7 Mile Fun Walk

Saturday, November 30, 8am - 12pm
1869 Luckenbach Mill, 459 Old York Road, Bethlehem, PA 18018

Helping you burn off those Thanksgiving calories for 17 years! Join us for a 5K Competitive Run/Walk or 1.7 mile Fun Walk through Bethlehem's beautiful historic district on Saturday, November 30, proudly sponsored by Physical Therapy at St. Lukes!

Competitive Runners and Walkers will delight in a unique path through the Central Moravian Historic District of Bethlehem, leading down to the tranquil trail along Sand Island. View historic buildings like the 1869 Luckenbach Mill, the Sun Inn, Central Moravian Church, the Moravian Museum of Bethlehem, and many more on your run/walk.

Not quite ready for a 5K but love to walk? Enter the 1.7 mile Fun Walk instead! Pups and strollers welcome on the Fun Walk for an enjoyable family outing. Don't miss photos with Santa, a look inside the historic Luckenbach Mill, as well as the Best Pet Costume Contest and healthy snacks!

Purseonality: A Stylish Handbag History

On Exhibit October 11, 2019 - April 30, 2020

Spanning the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries, ranging in style from folk art, to contemporary designer to embroidered. Ilene Hochberg Wood’s collection, which numbers into the thousands, is broken up into sub collections of 150 to ~ 300 purses grouped by material, aesthetic elements, and use.

Explore a timeline of handbags, representing the trends of each decade, displayed alongside corresponding fashions and paired with life-sized graphics from fashion advertisements that visitors can pose alongside.

Trees of Historic Bethlehem: Christmas Couture

Experience the fashion of Christmas Couture with Trees of Historic Bethlehem, beautifully adorned and decorated by the Bethlehem Garden Club!

Journey through four historic sites where over 20 trees display decorations inspired by famous fashion designers such as Dior, Chanel, Burberry, and more! These trees will displayed alongside our PURSEonality exhibition with corresponding purses, clutches, and handbags from the private collection of Ilene Hochberg Wood. Be sure to vote for your favorite!

Design After Dark

Design After Dark offers a new place to get together with an artistic flair! Hosting trivia nights, beer gardens, documentary film showings, and retro arcades - this is not your typical night at the museum. Dive into history, art, and design while taking a trip down memory lane through local historic trivia and some of your favorite childhood pastimes. Proudly sponsored by Altitude Marketing.

  • Museum Tours - Kid friendly version with artifact scavenger hunt available!
  • Career Corner - Select dates of the year a local professional will talk about design in their career and do a kid-friendly craft.

Explore Burnside Plantation Programs

FREE to attend! Get involved in local history with these programs developed by the Penn State Master Gardeners and local historic groups. Spend a morning or afternoon with your family and friends exploring the beautiful sites of Burnside Plantation while learning about gardening, local fauna, colonial cooking, and the history of the plantation.
