Lehigh Valley Style: 12 Local Businesses Offering At-Home Activities for Kids

As the days go on, it can be hard to come up with creative outlets to entertain your little ones while staying at home. Here’s a variety of local Lehigh Valley businesses that are helping to not only keep your kids happy but also educated while at home.
Roey Ebert is helping kids stay creative with her Quick Paint/Draw lessons on Instagram and Facebook. This is a fun thing for you and your kids to do together!
The kids can help make dinner thanks to the pizza kits for sale at Lorenzo’s Italian Family Restaurant! Kits are just $10 and include dough, sauce, peperoni and cheese! The kits are available daily for curbside pickup or no-contact delivery.
Pick up a DIY to-go art kit at AR Workshop in Easton, where they want you to turn your “bored” into “boards!” All three kit options, which vary in prices, include stencils, wood, stain color, paint choices, brushes and instructions. Pick-up times are Thursday, Friday and Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. at their store location. Happy crafting!
Let Hellertown Area Library handle story time on Facebook Live! If you miss one of their readings, you can find the recordings on the library’s Facebook page. Leave a comment on their Instagram or Facebook page prior to the next live stream and let them know your child’s name—they will give them a shout out in a special goodbye song at the end. Surprise your kids with a candy gram from their favorite Disney characters! A Storybook Party is offering deliveries every Saturday and Sunday in May and June. Options include deliveries from a princess, superhero, villain, fairy, pirate, or mermaid. The candy gram costs $49 and comes with a 10-minute visit, a song performance, pictures, and candy delivery. Forward Thinking Fitness teamed up with A Storybook Party to bring free, interactive workouts for kids. They are offering superhero sessions every day at noon via Zoom. Characters like Hulk, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Spiderman and more will interact with the children and teach them superhero moves. Parents are invited to join in!
The Lehigh Valley Zoo is working diligently to update their Facebook and Instagram with new and engaging content. See what the animals are up to and to watch their special story time readings. Kids can learn all about different species of animals from the comfort of home. Make sure to stay updated on their social media for new videos! While the Zoo is closed, consider making a donation.
The Bethlehem Area Public Library is pitching in by providing virtual readings to anyone that would like one. Check out their Facebook’s online story time library to watch at your convenience! Check back regularly for new updates.
Stoke Coal Fire Pizza in Easton is also offering make-your-own pizza kits for $8! Keep the kids entertained and their bellies full!

Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites is offering a virtual spin on its Free Sundays at the Museum program with a newsletter dubbed Free Sundays at Home! Sign up to receive a variety of multimedia resources that are meant to help kids delve into design. The fun includes free coloring pages, educational spotlights, crafts, video storytime and more.
ArtsQuest has a slew of virtual at-home offerings for Valley residents, and they haven’t forgotten about the kiddos! Their Director of Visual Arts, Lisa Harms will be hosting live picture book storytime for toddlers on The Banana Factory’s Facebook page. Continue to check ArtsQuest’s website for a schedule to come.
Beginning Wednesday, March 25, Muhlenberg Community Dance Center (MCDC) is offering free virtual dance classes for kids every weekday. Classes will take place at 11 a.m. (30 minutes) for ages nine and under, and 3 p.m. (45 minutes) for ages 10 and up. Birthright Brewing Company is also offering take-and-bake pizza kits with instructions included. Their margherita variety is $6 and their pepperoni variety is $7.
The Jewish Community Center has launched JCC at Home to provide activities even while they’re closed. Their early childhood education includes Monster Haircuts, scavenger hunts, cooking classes, daily crafts and weekly Virtual Shabbat on their Facebook page.
