The history of Burnside Plantation begins in 1748, when James Burnside purchased a 500-acre tract of land in what is now known as historic Bethlehem, PA. In 1986, the land was purchased by Lehigh County in order to restore it and turn it into a living history resource. Today, guests at Burnside Plantation can tour historic buildings and watch demonstrations meant to showcase farm life from 1748 to 1848.
The 2023 Blueberry Festival at Burnside Plantation will run from Saturday, July 15 to Sunday, July 16. Festival attendees can sample sweet treats at the food tent, like blueberry pies, coffee cake, streusel, or pierogies. You can also try beer, wine, mead, and vodka from local producers in the Blueberry Brewery Tasting Tent. There will be live musical performances in the tent both days.
For the younger crowd, there are plenty of great family-friendly activities to keep everyone entertained! From fun crafts in the Kids’ Club Tent to pony rides, your little ones will be so happy you attended! You won’t want to miss the dog agility demonstration and lawn games. Don’t forget about the pie-eating contest, either!
