Immerse yourself in the spirit of the holidays as you visit some of Bethlehem’s most popular historic sites to explore this family-friendly exhibit that’s perfect for all ages.
A popular attraction for guests from near and far, Trees of Historic Bethlehem features 20-plus Christmas trees beautifully decorated by members of the local Bethlehem Garden Club and sponsored by small businesses from throughout the community.
Did You Know?
The first documented Christmas Tree in America (1747) was located in the Gemeinhaus and was decorated with apples, candles and bible verses.
The exhibition is set up throughout three different historic locations, all within easy walking distance of each other, giving attendees an opportunity to discover Bethlehem’s remarkable history and duck out of the cold. Trees of Historic Bethlehem is a self-guided tour and admission includes access to the Moravian Museum of Bethlehem housed in the 1741 Gemeinhaus, the oldest building in the city; the Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts, one of only 15 decorative arts museums in the nation, and a putz display at the Single Sisters’ House.
The 2025 Trees of Historic Bethlehem theme will be announced later this year.
With this ticket, visitors also have access to two museums, The Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts and the Moravian Museum of Bethlehem, and the Moravian putz at the Single Sisters’ House.
Tree Tours are self-guided. Upon arrival to the museum, visitors will receive a green wristband to identify their purchase and a pamphlet providing an overview highlighting each of the twenty trees. The pamphlet will also provide access to an online version of the tour that guests can access from their phone. We recommend that visitors allot at least one hour to view all of the trees across the three sites.
